One Minute Space/Immediate Space

One Minute Space Athens stands for the temporary, immediate and ephemeral production of space: Space as a performative sculpture. Space as subjective time. OMS Athens leans on the occurrence of space through reception. We work with concepts of non-linear time, situatedness, knowledge(s), new materialism and the corporeality of agency. Intimate situations as a modus for art reception is what we are interested in.

Space is contingent and the continuous process of catching up with other spaces, groups, discourses, media and fields of practice is essential for One Minute Space Athens. Since Quantum Computing can store information in superposition and we learned that particles cannot be described independent from each other when they are in a state of entanglement it is even more important to realize how entangled the earth is today – and we are in the earth.

Entanglement of the heterogeneous constellation of a city is vivid for a concept of an idea of a space that posits the temporary as politically. We promote the appreciation of existing and not yet existing art and we support the contemporaneity of art. Discourse and independent artistic research comes alive by making things happen and constructing temporary autonomous zones.
