Folk Fiction Deluxe OMS Xmas Party
We’re thrilled to invite you to the Folk Fiction Deluxe Xmas Party next Thursday, December 22nd.
The night begins with a screening of the film El Lado Quieto (2021) by Carolina Fusilier and Miko Revereza to mark the closing of our group show “Folk Fiction” curated by Ariana Kalliga.
The film navigates the spectral remains of Capaluco, an island off the pacific coast of Mexico. Among the concrete remains of Capaluco’s theme parks, fabricated Greek ruins and deserted beach hotels, nature is steadily gaining ground. We hear the voices of disembodied tour guides, interspersed with intimately recorded, speculative conversations between the artists as they reflect on a mysterious sea creature, sweeping from the Philippines to Mexico. This sea creature is the Siyokoy, a mythical amphibian found in Philippine folklore and Class b terror films.
Deluxe OMS party will continue on the dancefloor with DJ sets by Iasonas Kampanis, Aristeidis Lappas and Konstantinos Lianos.
